Here are the first photos, taken outside my apartment. We are right next to a park with a paved hiking trail.

Riverside

Enjoyed a nice walk around Riverside the day before I left, came upon these flowers and knew right away they were begging to be photographed.

I made it!

The apartment is great! There is already a bed here waiting for me... Looking forward to uploading my photos from inside the plane! It's still light out... "sunset" is about 10:30. However, the room I'm sharing with Katie is sans windows!

The Birth of This Blog

I decided to name this blog after Alaska's state flower. Plus it naturally fits with the nature photographer that I am :-)
The goals of my blog are the following:
- let my readers live vicariously through me
- to document everything that inspires me
- and to keep myself busy whilst working very long arduous hours. On a train.
